Subject:additional spell and grammar checkers for Word 7? From:Becca <becca_price -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:tech2wr-l <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Fri, 2 Nov 2012 11:18:02 -0700 (PDT)
I'm asking this here and also at the word-pc list.
ÂI received the following query from one of my supervisors:
Â
"Do you know if there is a standalone spell/grammar checker application commercially available?
Second preference would be a website, but that can raise security concerns. I have found spellcheck.net, but donât use it.
I canât stand how Microsoft has gutted Wordâs spell/grammar check over the years"
Â
Does anyone know of a Word add-in or stand-alone spelling and grammar checker, like he's asking for? I did point him to a readability analysis website, but I'm not sure that's what he's looking for.
Â
I'm also not sure what he means by MS gutting the spelling and grammar checking... hasn't that been pretty standard for quite awile?
Â
We're using Word 10 in Windows 7.
Â
I did find this site:
 http://www.gingersoftware.com/features/grammar_checker.html
Â
Does anybody know anything about it?
Thanks!
Becca
