RE: Usage question - "... un-initialized state" or "... anuninitialized state"

Am I missing something? The addition of "an" says to me that there is
more than one "state", not more than one "un-initialized state". To my
ear, the reviewer's version is better.

With respect to initialization, there are two states - initialized and
un-initialized. There are no sub-categories under un-initialized, and no
grey areas. It is or it ain't.
