Would dropping high performance altogether do any serious damage to description?

This raises a new thought for me. "High-performance" is a good marketing adjective, but it does not really say much. As we have seen in this discussion, the term raises many questions. What is being measured? What standard of performance is being used? How does this impact the product?

Many people are jaded after the various economic failures of recent years that were often from taking financial risks based on puffing. Puffing terms, like, "high-performance," are discouraged in favor of action terms that describe accomplishments. Does the need to show past performance also apply in this marketing? Perhaps, instead of "high-performance" the tag line should how the product has performed, like saying, "delivers more than 8TBs of data per millisecond," or something more accurate than that.
