Probably operator error on my part, but...

I did a search in FAR that yielded a list of 95 files in the right-hand
pane. That seemed roughly what I'd expected. All had checkboxes beside
them. Only one file had the box checked. So I clicked the "reverse" button
above the checkbox column to get them all checked (clicked the one box that
became unchecked by the reversal).

Under the Replace tab I specified my target expression and the replacement
expression and told it to get started. FAR rumbled along for a few minutes,
with the progress indicator (file number) swinging back and forth and
incrementing by one or two numbers with each swing, until it finally
completed all 95 files.

>From observation, exactly one file had had the operation done. The target
expression was identical in all files, but only one was changed after all
that. I did the search again, selected them all again, and ran it again.
One more replacement completed.

It's actually faster to just open each file in Notepad and do the edits
manually.

It's not obvious that I'm messing up the regex strings, because replacement
does get performed once.

This is on a server accessed by IP (a Windows 2008 VM), because it's not
part of the in-company DNS.

I'm sure I'm misinterpreting the interface of FAR or the Help.
I used FAR years ago, when my entire worklife existed on a single computer,
and don't remember problems.
