The Amazon cloud had nothing to do with the original linked in hack (as
far as anyone knows). You're drawing entirely the wrong conclusions.  This
article describes how a security researcher is using the Amazon EC2
service to break the password hashes in the file that the hackers stole.
The point of the article is that if some guy can crack the password file
cheaply and easily with cloud services, then evil hackers can also do it
cheaply and easily.
