Flare 8 slows everything down?

I have a client using Flare and they recently upgraded to Flare version 
8 from Flare 7. Flare 8 loads slower for them and then after running a 
while it slows everything down on the machine, so much so that they 
reboot and open Flare 7, which runs much faster. Flare support says this 
is a bug and if it's fixed in a patch they'll let them know.

Anyone experience this and have any words of wisdom? Our current fix is 
"use Flare 7."
