Well, it's communication of a sort, and the people involved are technical - aside from me (and the whole rest of the engineering department as [generally -] silent witnesses, the participants are John H., a test engineer who runs our local hardware lab, and John R., a verification tester.
John H. is a gruff, balding, 60-year-old, who is good at his job, but not terribly careful with punctuation.
