The short answer is I've never found WinBatch limited in any regard,
whatever it is/was that I wanted to achieve. It's very robust. As for
specifics, I haven't had to crawl under Word's hood and disassemble any of
its bits for a long time. Why not pose your question directly to Morrie and
the fine folks at Wilson WindowWare? It's a small company with a level of
personal attention all too rare in our world today.
