I responded to the thread in general and not to any particular post, so my post was not directed to you or to anyone in particular.

I agree, enable and allow have different meanings, and they are not interchangeable, nor is one term derivative of the other. In my example, I showed how a feature a could be enabled, but will not necessarily allow an option. An option that enables a feature may or may not allow some other options. The words, "enable" and "allow," although they can be used in similar ways, do not have the same the meanings.
