I had the exact opposite reaction when I downloaded a trial version of
Author-It a couple of years ago when I was choosing tools at a
previous job. I could NOT figure out how to do very basic things like
create a table of contents or an index in my project using AuthorIT.
And I'm usually quite good a picking up new tools quickly. And the
AuthorIt help was not very helpful to getting up to speed, it was full
of product specific jargon and didn't include topics for basic tasks
when creating a Help project. I ended up going with Flare, and I've
never regretted it. I'm now at my fourth job where I'm using Flare.
