Hi Julie,

I've used Subversion/SVN in a couple of companies to manage binary
documents (MS Office) and it worked well. That source code control software
won't be going away anytime soon. The fact your main tool has built in
integration for SVN should make it a no brainer.

Drupal is a web content management system, touted as an application
development framework. There have been groups who integrated the Alfresco
document management system into the application, and created an enterprise
system to serve web pages and document.

>From personal experience, Drupal takes a long time to learn and understand.
It isn't source control software, in fact most Drupal developers use Git to
manage their source code. Git is an interesting animal that may or may not
work with your business goals. Git is not meant to be centralized, and more
people use the command line than a GUI.

Hope this helps.
