I also went with a Galaxy Tab 7 (current version is Plus). It has a similar
form factor, weight, and battery life as a Kindle Fire. I read Kindle books
on it and there is Nook for Android. I really like the size because of it's
portability and I can read for long periods. I've found PDF annotating apps
so I can also read and mark up DRM books. It is more expensive, but it is
more than a reader for me though.

I just got it, and I'm still learning how to use it but already I've been
able to set it up so l can leave my laptop while at a conference. How
liberating. It fits nicely in a small bag or large pocket. Can't say that
about my laptop. I might invest in a keyboard but Swype does a decent job.

We'll see how it does at this conference. This will be a good test.
