I need to do some screen captures created in SnagIt for a project that will be done in FrameMaker. The callouts will be added in Illustrator by someone else.

Our graphics designer is asking for the screen caps to be 300 dpi.  Snagit won't let me set the dpi, but will let me set the ppi - their default is 96 ppi, but I can set it for whatever I like.

Now, I know that dpi is dots per inch, and is a function of the printer. And ppi is pixels per inch - but I'm not sure what the end result of setting the ppi at 300 will be.

Will setting ppi in SnagIt give our graphics designer the resolution she wants? or does ppi not translate out to dpi?

-becca, confused
