Kevin,

Are they referring to rest, in the sense of motion? Or are they referring to "REpresentational State Transfer?" On the wikipedia page for this topic, the following quote appears: 'Conforming to the REST constraints is generally referred to as being "RESTful".'

It doesn't help that we already speak of "data in motion" and "data at rest" for our own purposes (data security and encryption). It's not entirely biguous. :-)
