Yes, and you can also switch to Slide Sorter view to do the same. But
there's a shortcut for creating a new slide, duplicating a slide, etc. -
thought there'd be one for this, too. I'm just picky.

Can't you tab to the slide navigation pane, cursor to the slide you want
to remove, and press delete?
