currently looking for a Senior Technical Writer in our St. Cloud or
Minneapolis, MN offices.
The Senior Technical Writer is responsible for researching,
designing, writing, editing, producing, updating, and managing
technical documentation for software products. Soliciting input from
subject matter experts and design documentation, the Senior Technical
Writer is responsible for the software user documentation including
installation instructions, release notes, online help text, and other
technical manuals, reference materials, and customer communications
that enable the end user to utilize the product most effectively. The
Senior Technical Writer is also responsible for internal technical
documentation as required for each product and in support of
efficient development processes. Within the functional technical
writing area, the Senior Technical Writer is a leader, promoting the
value-add of the department throughout the organization and a mentor
to non-senior writers.
Requirements:
o Tech Comm certificate or Bachelor's degree in IT/Writing related
field required; Master's Degree in Tech Comm highly preferred
o 4+ years of related experience required; more dependent upon educa
tion
o Experience with technical writing for commercially marketed
software required
o Experience documenting large scale software including technical
and consumer documentation required
o Proficiency in RoboHelp and other help development tools
required
o Experience with planning, conversion and implementation to
structured authoring/XML environment, including content management
authoring systems is required. DITA preferred
