I used to try to match the "bribes" to the meeting members. For example,
doughnuts and bagels to marketing and engineers. However, I once brought
Mexican jumping beans to a meeting with some accounting people. The metaphor
was supposed to be "they jump through hoops," but somehow the bean counters
saw it differently.....oh well, I didn't need that contract anyway.
