Does anyone have suggestions for calling out steps which indicate that
you need to JUMP OVER the following step(s)?

If the differences are only a few short steps, then I use a single procedure with a "Skip Ahead" of note (with an icon that's typically an arrow) explaining, for example, "If your installation does not include Option A, skip to step <first-step-in-Section-3>."

But if there is more that's different than alike, then I usually end up with totally separate procedures and end up repeating the common steps.

But sometimes the procedures (your Section 1, 2, and 3) in the Process Overview (your If/Then table) can be separated out enough that the jumps within the sections can be eliminated. That is, break down the process into smaller sections, and the sections can stand alone.

HTH,
-Monique
