In December 2005, Adobe took over RoboHelp and inherited some
seriously needy code. Somewhat later they let go the team that had
developed that code. Those folks went off to start MadCap and
developed Flare from scratch -- not as a RoboHelp clone, but as an
authoring product in approximately the same space. ...RM
