Best practice is to choose one and stick with it. Now, you can argue
measured space and aesthetics, but I don't care. (Ha!) If you have
published, are publishing, and will forever publish in one and only
one language, then change it up all you want. But if you're
localizing, pick one and stick with it, because every change from one
to two or two to one from revision to revision - even if the words
themselves never change - WILL cost you money on the localization side
as linguists take the time to figure out why they're staring at a
fuzzy match.
