TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Based on open source content management system Drupal 6,
the new site design features a Web 2.0 look and feel,
improved navigation, taxonomy-based navigation, easier-to-find
articles, complete archives, and old favorites such as the
weekly poll.
You'll also find new features linking TECHWR-L to social
media, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. Soon,
we'll be adding more RSS feeds to survey meaty tech writing
related content from other sources.
What's more, we have a good portion of existing articles
still to republish on the site, so there's much more content
to come. TECHWR-L is also still a paying writer's market,
so expect to see updated author guidelines as well as
brand new material published soon.
Where'd the blog feature go? We're relaunching that feature
separately, inviting existing bloggers to either apply to
be a site blogger (to avoid irrelevant content and advertising)
and inviting bloggers interested in publishing on TECHWR-L
to submit material as articles.
Enjoy the new site! Visit often, as new content will be
available nearly every day. Or subscribe to the Daily
Announcements list, which pulls new content from the site
and complies it into a single daily email, so you can have
pointers to the new and updated site content arrive
conveniently in your inbox. To subscribe to the Daily
Announcements list, send email to
