I am thinking that the "default" font for Normal style is Verdana. If you go
and look at styles and look at the default font, I bet that''s it. You are
using styles to format your text, right? If you are not using styles, but
instead are "hand formatting" the text, that would be the problem.

Also, if you are printing the document and verdana is showing up, either as
a PDF or a print file, as someone else said, you might be getting a "font
substitution" instead of the font you chose.
