One common method is to have a "trademarks" heading, usually on a
legal boilerplate page in the frontspiece, listing all the copyrighted
terms contained in the document, including both those claimed by the
company issuing the document as well as any used that belong to third
parties (with a statement that said third-party trademarks are used by
permission--you *have* that permission for any such marks, right?)
This scheme works well for manuals delivered as a single work, but it
may be a little more difficult should the delivery be somewhat
piecemeal for any reason. In an online doc such as a help file, to be
on the safe side it might be good to include a trademarks heading in
the index pane.
A copyright statement would also be a good idea for such electronic
docs as well as the printed ones. As we have seen, that is not
strictly necessary but is often a good idea "just in case."
