Several years back I read a book - I think it was _The Chair:
Rethinking Culture, Body, and Design_. For ergonomics, the book
recommended using a taller, workbench-height desk with a chair seat
that slopes slightly down. At a previous (non-writing) job, I had a
tall workbench and liked it fine.
