I solved the general problem for this situation a very long time ago, but no one took me seriously. The software (or the hardware) asks the question, "Have you read the manual?"

Once the correct answer is provided, the system proceeds to the next step.

The correct answer is neither YES nor NO, but a unique phrase that is documented in the manual, perhaps something like, "You betcha, boss!"

I'm still waiting to see some vendor use this approach, and I'm not asking royalties, either. Maybe I should. FOSS is FUD, in some minds.
