I blame Word for everything. I've used it since DOS version 1.0 (remember
the one that fit on a floppy disk?) And I never encountered as many problems
as in recent years. Lately I've had a similar problem in that I cannot
modify the paragraph styles for Headings 5 and above. The paragraph window
shows empty left indent, first line indent of 22.75 inches, and standard
spacing before and after. I set the first two values to 0 to remove the
first line and header indent. Then, when I try to close the dialog the
system complains that 'The measurement must be between -22" and 22".'
I can't even save the paragraph dialog with the initial values it opened
with. This is a sure sign of data corruption, or a background update, maybe
even to Internet Explorer, somewhere. I wouldn't doubt that Tracy's friend's
problem is related.
