I think the fact that it wasn't a working link was part of the 
charm.  It's a far more subtle way to convey the hopelessness 
of the situation than something blatant like "Resistance is futile!" *

Anyway, I got a great kick out of that article. I laughed. I cried. 
I passed it on to my wife and a few co-workers.
