At one gig we were saddled with the title "Performance Improvement
Specialists" (yea, like how long did it take those high-paying suit types to
sit around and thing >>THAT<< one up?) as everything that we developed, be
it writing or training, was designed to improve the end-user's performance.
And, when we rattled off that title to the recipients of our work and
received the to be expected slacked-jawed/glassy-eyed/deer in the headlights
look we just quickly followed it with "you know - writers and trainers" and
the light bulb of recognition would go on! If aint' broke . . .

Look how well that worked out for "sanitation engineers." ;-)
