Gene is right. These kinds of absurdly low "opportunities" have existed
for as long as I've been in the profession. I remember many years ago
when I was an independent contractor (and doing software tech writing
for $40-50/hr.), local company Quark (yes, that Quark) advertised for
tech writers to work on its first Windows version of QuarkXPress -- for
$12/hr.

That's when I vowed never, ever to use that product. :-)
