One of the first things I noticed when I joined this list was Robert's
outspokenness. I've got friends like him who are very opinionated.
They don't care about being popular, and will always say what they
feel. I've learned not to take comments like this seriously. He's only
trying to yank our chains.

That said, I'm in agreement with you that it's not a big deal to run a
helper app on other platforms to open a useful CHM. I personally find
Chmox on my Mac to be a better CHM reader than the Windows app, only
one reason being that I don't need to hack the registry to be able to
read the HTML pages across network paths.

Plus, Chmox associates itself with CHM files, so they open when I
double click them. JUST like on a Winbox. What's the name of the app
you found works best to open CHMs in *nix?


Hey, come to think of it, NO OS can open PDFs natively ... they all
need a helper app. Sure, Mac OSX packages a little multi-reader called
"Preview", but that's just a helper app. For the rest of us, we need
to DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER. Hello.

I guess we should be fortunate none of us are using Google OS. IT
doesn't run ANYTHING. Yet.
