Indeed. But I haven't had one of those since 1989, the last time
I was a member of a real pubs group. Ever since, I've been a lone
writer, a department unto myself. Occasional technical reviewers
find themselves unable to refrain from straying into proofing, but
it's mostly stylistic nit-picking that consumes my time in explaining
why it's better to do it my way...
What luxury for you if you have an actual copyeditor or even a
proofreader. I'd kill to have those services. :-)
Just as there is no budget to hire a body, there's no budget to
rent/contract the services. Sigh.
All I want for Christmas is Geoff Hart on retainer. :-D
Cheers,
- Kevin
