Thanks to all for the DOS memories! :) That will certainly do the trick.

Personally, though, I'd select all the desired folders in Windows Explorer, use Path Copy, and paste into the Office application. If you needed to flatten the view to capture sub-folder content, too, I'd use xplorer2 -- which is much better than Windows Explorer, anyway.

I read your concern about installing applications, but Path Copy does not have a typical MSI or EXE installer, and might not present the hurdles other programs would.

For details, see http://download.cnet.com/Path-Copy/3000-2072_4-10036463.html.

Xplorer2, of course, whether using the freeware or paid version, is something you would probably have to clear with your IT. It's immensely useful, however. For details, see: www.zabkat.com.

I am on a PC using Windows. From My Computer I can navigate to a network directory, and nested in a subfolder is a list of sub-subfolders. I would love a quick way of putting that list of of folder names in an Office application, like Excel or Word.

I'm making a checklist to see if each sub-subfolder contains a certain something.

Any way to list the filenames that I view in a Windows directory?
