If possible, try to ensure the reader doesn't have to turn pages to see all the descriptions of the items indicated by callouts on the image. If your descriptions have to spread over two pages, try to arrange the pages so the image is at the top of the left-hand page and the descriptions don't go farther than the bottom of the facing page. This may mean you have to limit the number of callouts per image, so you may need multiple iterations of the same image to cover everything. But following this rule will make it a bit faster for the reader to find the desired information, and there are some people who may have retention problems if they have to search across multiple pages. Especially if they're under pressure and in a hurry and getting flustered. It's easier to have a bad brain day under those conditions.
