I too use Expressions web and am not displeased. Unlike FP, Expressions can produce standards compliant HTML. It also has tools that enable you to validate against different standards. It also uses styles (as opposed to in-line formatting). However, if you want clean code, nothing beats hand coding. Apart from the DWTs (which work very well), I use Expressions to do quick mockups and then go back and clean up and rewrite.

Guess I'm alone with my recommendation: Microsoft Expression Web is actually
very good, fairly easy to use, a reasonable price ($149) and doesn't have
the problems that plagued FrontPage. I used it to learn CSS and have done a
couple of projects -- currently working on www.saveoldphotos.com, a pet
project (haven't had time to update my business site yet, it was done in
FrontPage a number of years ago before I learned about all the problems with
the coding FrontPage generated).
