"Click XYZ." That's one of the places where I part with the MS guide's
advice due to excessive wordiness. Also, these days, it's often a
hyperlink rather than a button.
For concision, I also lump different kinds of UI elements together,
for example, "Select Tools > Options > View > Restore Defaults," where
View is a dialog-box tab and Restore Defaults is a button. I don't
really like "Select" in that context, but it'll do until a better verb
comes along.
