I once had a rental car from which I could not get the key out of the ignition. I finally found the manual which explained the trick. I *would not* have figured it out by myself. I am used to Japanese cars and this rental car was American. I was visiting my elderly aunt and uncle and I doubt they would have been any help, either. So I, too, would have been grumpy if the manual had not been available. But why did it have to be so unintuitive?
