Perhaps...

But these have been very informative discussions about technology that we
as tech communicators are often assumed to have knowledge of, and that
telecommuters (of which many of us are) can use to make our jobs work
better.

It seems that many discussions that are much more remotely and tenuously
connected to tech writing are allowed to go on much longer, so I wonder if
we might not let this one continue on-list for a bit more?
