If they want to have and outside "expert" repeat what you've been saying,
fine. To them you're just a "tech writer." You're job is to document what we
design...even if it stinks. That's all they want to pay your for. All of us
who have been around for a while have worked for companies like that. It
sucks if you let it get personal, so don't let it get personal. If they are
doing something stupid, explain to them there is a better way. If they
listen...great. If they don't listen, be satisfied that their ignorance
bought you a nice dinner or some downtime at the beach.
(I wonder how much they're paying that expert?)

Hi all,
You will be interested in the latest comment I've gotten on my raising
the roof about a Red start, Next, and other buttons:
"One of our employees has a close relative who is high up in "XXX
COMPANY (well known computer company)" creative area that does a lot
with usability, etc. They've talked once already about the Red button
issue and we are sending him some screenshots for review. So, it will be
a very qualified outside opinion that will help us determine the right
direction. "
