In that case, write it out and pluralize as needed: Material Safety Data
Sheets or Material Safety Data Sheet.
While I'm not a fan of this whole thing, if something gets called by its
acronym so often that no one ever calls it anything else, then we have a
problem and we slam right up against it with plurals (or possessives, or
gah, plural possessives!). "PIN numbers" come to mind. I'd use PINs (or
MSDSs) but if that caused problems for users, I'd either re-write it
like I did, or else I'd write it all out.
I'm not convinced that this is nearly as bad as updation!
