"Updation" is in Webster's "New Millenium" dictionary. I have been seeing it in
various software release notes for at least 10 years now.

My current job is documenting software that was developed overseas, and today I
ran into a good example of being *just* a bit off in wording. The software
includes a procedure for updating some types of data. At one point, if you try
to proceed without selecting the data type, the program shows an error message
that reads: "Please select the data for updation."

I kind of liked that.
