Two jobs ago I was on the pilot team for adopting acrolinx acrocheck,
which is a spelling/grammar/style checker. On steroids. I loved
using the tool because when you get immediate feedback on your errors,
you eventually start catching yourself and learn to stop making them.

I just sat in on a Webinar for SDL Author Assist, which now comes free
with Adobe FrameMaker 9. Author Assist looks remarkably like
acrocheck. Except that it is FREE. Holy cow. I did a little happy
dance around my office, then ran off to ask permission to upgrade to
FrameMaker 9.

Before I actually buy the upgrade it occurred to me that I should ask,
is anyone out there using Author Assist? How about FrameMaker 9? I'm
going to watch RJ Jacquez's recording of the lesson he gave on the new
UI.(http://blogs.adobe.com/rjacquez/2009/02/framemaker_9_user_interface_on.html)
I've used both InDesign and PhotoShop, so if the new UI is similar to
the other Adobe products I don't expect to have too much trouble
getting used to the change.

Any comments from Frame 9 early adopters?

Thanks!
Julie
