Indeed, the error could have been from an intentional use of a wrong
command, not fat-fingered, but bone-headed.
How about, "Entering an erroneous command may render the unit
unresponsive." ?
While we are at it, what's the correct way to punctuate that use of
quote marke? I remember having been taught that it should be:

which has always struck me as a bone-headed rule.
