Non-exempt, salaried would be great. Like it or not, there's a social
stigma in the workforce between salaried and hourly employees. If tech
writers are to be hourly, then I firmly believe that testers and
developers should be as well. As a tech writer, I do just as much
planning, designing, developing, and grunt work as any programmer. My
fear is that the "end of the line" writers are being favored here,
where the "at project inception" writers will be getting screwed.
