I don't understand why people become fixated on narrow, idiosyncratic
interpretations of a word like that. If the word "graceful" causes you
to see disturbing images of ballerinas, or the word "appears" triggers a
haunting childhood memory of a cheesy magician pulling a coin out of
your nose -- well, I submit that the problem is with you and not with
the word. :-)

I see you still remember that one. Well, I submit that it's a reaction a
lot of people can have to certain words or phrases -- although which
word or phrase evokes what image can vary among individuals. The fact
that somebody else had a similar reaction to mine would seem to prove
that it isn't just a personal hang-up of mine.
