Adobe seems to have stopped providing full hardcover manuals in general. I
only received the "Workflow Guide" with CS3 Design Premium, which is little
more than a detailed marketing brochure. The manuals in the Adobe products I
have loaded on my computer (which includes Technical Communications Suite,
CS3 Desigin Premium and Acrobat Pro) seem to be contained within the online
help systems.
I have had great success with the Adobe Classroom In A Book series for CS3.
I would guess that this was also updated for the new software release. The
only place I feel it was not giving me enough information was with
ActionScript 3.0 - but as that's more of a programming language, I purchased
another book (from O'Reilly) to teach myself ActionScript. Otherwise, the
Flash book is a good self-teaching tool for learning the UI and the features
of Flash (and sufficient for "design" work, in any case).
As to prices overseas, I can't help you. I know the books are expensive;
something like 50 dollars US each, list price.
Regards,
Wendy
