Dear all -

This is my first posting to this list; my apologies for any faux pas. My
background is a mix of training development and technical writing.

I have been requested to compile an online course in technical writing for a
group of people interested in leaving their current (quite diversified)
occupations and trying to enter the TW field.

Rather than creating the course content from scratch, I am interested in
adopting 2-3 "textbooks" as required readings, and adding lots of additional
training activities (drills, writing/editing exercises + feedback,
peer-teaching sessions, teamwork assignments, Q&A sessions, etc.) to ensure
skill formation, reinforcement and transfer.

I am turning to your collective wisdom in hope you can point to the
following resources:

a) existing online resources (e-books, tutorials, white papers, PPT
presentations etc) that can be freely accessed by the learners;
b) absolute beginner-level TW books/textbooks that can be adopted as the
core of the course, to build upon and extend.

Any and all suggestions in these two domains - as well as any other ideas -
will be gratefully accepted.

Best -

Lev
