Deborah
Thanks. Actually, the cursor WAS near another table, so that could be
it. I can still try the other two solutions you suggest if the problem
persists.
David

Hi David,

This has happened to me in the past at various moments in time. Tracked
the problems down to:

1. Cursor is on or near another table - for some reason Word doesn't
like that when I click the table button.
2. Corrupted Normal.dot
3. Miscellaneous, solved by closing Word and restarting it.

Have you tried closing Word and reopening? How about backing up your
copy of normal.dot and then remove it from the templates directory.
Sounds like a corruption problem to me.

I hope this helps

Deborah

button, and not getting the expected result. (Surprise, surprise, Word
isn't behaving as expected.) Hitherto, when I click this button, I get a
grid that allows me to drag through it to select the number of rows and
columns for the table. Now, clicking the button displays the table
creation dialog box. Okay, it isn't exactly an earth-shaking problem to
use the box, but I'd like to know what gives.
