But if it *isn't* file corruption, then "Maggie" and "Open and Repair"
won't help! That's why I referred her to Christine Kent, in case it's
related to the new interface. Tammy said that when she reapplied the
styles, "95% of the time, there was no visible change in the layout of
the paragraph." Maybe the style assignments were never lost -- just not
displayed -- and there's a ribbon setting we're not familiar with.
An older version (I forget which) had an annoying feature where clicking
the style name in the tool bar had the opposite effect of selecting the
style name in the dialog box.
