Word 2007, Vista. I have a style named Numbered Step and as the name
implies, it is used for numbered steps in a procedure. It was working
beautifully until all of a sudden - boom - now when I update the TOC,
the left indent gets automatically reset from 0.00 to 0.5 and I have no
idea why. I have made sure that under the Options for Styles, that all
the options under "Select Formatting to Show as Styles" are NOT
selected, and I even went through and changed all of the numbered steps
to a non-numbered style, deleted the Numbered Step style, then selected
the Non-numbered style and applied a numbering format. So, every time I
update the TOC (to check that I have my headings as expected), I have to
manually go through and reapply the formatting to each of the numbered
steps and needless to say, it's a huge time suck to do this. Also, after
I reformat the numbering, and start a new numbered list, of course I
have to manually restart the list at "1" and that hoses all of the
formatting again!
