Here you go. Perhaps this will help.

http://www.winwriters.com/surveys/salary07/salary_location.htm

My long experience with contracting only taught me that all recruiters are
leeches. They subtract 14% or more of your salary and contribute nothing but
paperwork, and you can do that yourself.

Whenever I get a call from a recruiter I immediately quote my hourly rate
and give them an opportunity to hang up on me. Most of them then have the
nerve to then go on to ask for the name of a "friend" who will work for them
for peanuts. I don't have any enemies, so I refrain from assisting them by
providing a name, then helpfully hang up on them.

Whenever I see a recruiter post a position I find interesting, I do some
Googling and try to do an end run around that recruiter. Sometimes you can
find that job listed on a company web site and apply directly, cutting out
the parasitic middle man.

Even if you can't find the job, you're better off avoiding the recruiter
unless you're so desperate you can't even feed your cat.
